Lauren has been creating ever since she can remember. Raised on 40 acres of land in rural Texas, she is highly influenced by the beauty of the natural environment.

Today, Lauren creates artworks that use a variety of mediums. Trained in oils, her love for traditional landscapes has evolved into an abstracted lens of the world around us.

“I can never get away from nature’s influence in my work, but not just nature; the joy it brings us as our Creator intended. My work focuses on the spaces between and around the landscape: the myriad textures of plants, the negative spaces between leaves, and the complex colors that work in harmony, woven together like a beautiful tapestry.”

Lauren finds she makes her best works when she works intuitively, letting the shapes, textures and colors of nature guide her. Looking at the spaces between and around the landscape, she builds pieces that are collaged both literally and metaphorically. Small collages are built with fabrics and painted papers, and larger works are composed of fragments of the natural world painted harmoniously with a variety of mediums.

Lauren received a BA from Houston Christian University and an M.Ed. from the University of Houston.
