Lauren Ellzey Adams has been creating ever since she can remember. raised on 40 acres of land in rural texas, LaUREN IS HIghly influenced by the beauty of the natural environment.

Today, Lauren creates artworks that use a variety of mediums. Trained in traditional oils, her love for the natural environment and landscapes has evolved into abstraction of the world around us.

“I can never get away from nature’s influence in my work, but not just nature; the joy it brings us as our Creator intended. This collection focuses on the spaces between and around the landscape: the myriad textures of plants, the negative spaces between leaves; the complex colors that work in harmony together all woven together like a beautiful tapestry creating nature’s perfect collage.”

Lauren finds she makes her best works when she works intuitively, letting the shapes, textures and colors of nature guide her. looking at the spaces between and around the landscape, Lauren builds pieces that are collaged both literally and metaphorically. small collages are built with fabrics and painted papers, and larger works are composed of fragments of the natural world, woven together harmoniously with a variety of mediums.

She also has a love for interior design and fashion, and you can see that influence through her use of color and texture.

Lauren received a BFA from Houston Baptist University and M.Ed. from University of Houston.
